Our research is driven by the need to reduce the global impact of human activities on the natural environment and on depletion of natural resources. We seek to identify and improve understanding of factors that limit the efficiencies in chemical and energy transformation processes, and device methods to overcome them. Currently, our focus areas include catalysis and electrical energy storage, with an underlying theme of advanced materials design and synthesis. We are also interested in energy system analyses.
